Learning
Beth Jacob has something for Jewish learners of all ages and backgrounds. We believe in the transformative power of Torah study, and work tirelessly to provide multiple points of access for Jewish learning.
From Rabbi Albert’s weekly classes on prayer, Parsha (weekly Torah portion), Talmud, and Jewish philosophy, many of which are available online, to Tot Shabbat for toddlers on Saturday mornings, to special Shabbaton weekends with scholars from around the world, Beth Jacob is a hub for diving in to our texts and traditions and finding the contemporary meaning in ancient Jewish practice and beliefs. If you haven’t yet experienced the unique style of Beth Jacob learning, we invite you to one of our Shabbat University sessions, which take place bi-weekly after Saturday morning services.
Beth Jacob is also a place where community is born. Every week, we gather on Saturday mornings for services, followed by a Drash and Kiddush. Kiddush is a time to catch up, and while adults schmooze upstairs, kids play in the outdoor playground, and older children take care of younger ones so their parents can get a bit of a break.
The greatest showcase of our community might be during our Annual Gala, a costume party where members team up to create unique kosher social events and dinners that we auction off to support the shul. Taking part in our annual gala and bidding on events creates a year-long social calendar of delicious food, unique entertainment, all made possible by the generosity of our community.
