Thank you for your interest in the Beth Jacob community.
We are a Modern Orthodox synagogue in Oakland whose members come from a variety of backgrounds. We are accepting and respectful of each other’s individual practices. Although we are smaller in numbers (180-200 families), we are all so active that our sanctuary is always full of life!
We offer complete life cycle services which include: a fabulous preschool for 6 months - 5 year olds (Gan Mah Tov), excellent youth programs, mikvah, adult education, daily minyan, kosher kitchens, spacious social halls, burial society, local access to excellent Jewish Day Schools, and a wide range of social and cultural activities for you and your family. We celebrate all Jewish Holidays. Simchat Torah and Purim are particularly fun and widely celebrated.
Shabbat services are every Saturday starting at 9 a.m. Childcare is provided from 10 a.m. - noon, which includes an excellent youth program. We would be delighted to have you join us soon!
Again, thank you for your interest in Beth Jacob. We are a wonderful congregation with a family of caring members. Please submit the form below or contact our office at 510.482.1147 for more information. We look forward to welcoming you to our community
