Simchat Torah Parade and Learning Celebration
Sunday, October 11, 2020 • 23 Tishrei 5781
11:30 AM - 12:15 PMWe will be meeting up along the periphery of Crocker Elementary School, where we will conduct our Torah Flag Contest, where each family will wave their home made flags and we will proclaim winners of various categories (most: colorful, creative, celebratory, etc.) Then we will march to our hosts on Van Sicklen, thank you Chester and Mimi!, where we spread out in clusters to learn about the Books of the Torah, and then restart learning the whole Torah again from the beginning, together! There will also be an opportunity for families to do their own hakafa (dance around) the Torah at the end of this event. Here is a link to make your own Torah or Simchat Torah Flag for our march. Thanks to Ann Kofsky, the Bnot Sherut at Bat Ami, and Debby Jacoby Ruben for sharing this idea and resource. This event is limited to the first 20 families that sign up, please go to the Sukkot Schedule & Signup page to RSVP (log-in required to view this page).
