The Beth Jacob Security Program

Beth Jacob maintains a very active program to ensure the safety and security of its congregants. These activities revolve primarily around the maintenance of a proactive relationship with the Oakland Police Department, a proactive approach to emergency planning, and the systematic upgrade of the physical plant to enhance security. We were fortunate in receiving a U.S. Department of Homeland Security (USDHS) grant three years ago that allowed the installation of a state of the art digital camera system that covers and records the entire perimeter of our building and the immediate surrounding area. As of this writing we have been informed that we’ll shortly receive another USDHS grant that will allow us to better control access to the building and install new security fencing.

Beyond these measures we maintain a fine and supportive working relationship with our neighbors and with the community at large. We hope you will join us at Beth Jacob.
