Beth Jacob's annual June Dinner and auction is much more than just a delicious meal (catered by the likes of YES Catering and Oakland Kosher Foods) and a major fundraiser (it bridges the gap between what we pay in dues and what it costs to keep our synagogue running). Just as important as raising funds is cultivating community, and when we gather at the June Dinner for A NIGHT AT THE OPERA, the 2005 theme, or dressed in our grooviest bell-bottoms for A RETURN TO THE SUMMER OF LOVE, the 2009 theme, that's exactly what we do.
The auction not only brings together the best of what the Bay Area has to offer--sports tickets, museum memberships, fine art and fine wine--but brings together the best of what our members have to offer too! Our most popular offerings year after year are the terrific events hosted by our members themselves -- the meals that transport guests to Tuscany or Morocco; the wine tastings that cross continents and even the casual gatherings over football or board games, all of which combine to set an unofficial synagogue social calendar every year!
Starting in 2012 we're trying something new. June Dinner is no longer in June! Join us on February 26, 2012 for this years not June dinner. More info on the swashbuckling soiree will follow in the coming months... be sure to capture this date on your calendar NOW so that you don't miss out on the fun & bounty!
The annual dinner and auction is how we raise money, but it's also how we make friends. Please join us!
